"Ja, ja," Beethoven's reply when asked if he wanted a glass of wine. When asked if he disliked any of his twelve symphonies, he would shout "Nein, nein!"

Nein, I don't think I'll get away with that so:

Jeitteles, Alois. He wrote the text of B's song cycle "An die ferne Geliebte"

          Kant.
Beethoven was influenced by Kant, who said that we cannot know objective reality. His ethical teaching is the source of the quote that B often referred to as the starry skies without and the moral law within.

O = Orpheus. Some consider the tale Orpheus in the Underworld to be the "subject" in B's 4th Piano Concerto, 2nd movement.

Q = Ritmo di quattro battute, as marked in the score of the Scherzo of B's 9th. Meaning beat the time in 4.

                                Unkempt.
Beethoven's friends were concerned about his unkempt appearance.

"It was not uncommon for {Beethoven's] friends to replace his old clothes with new ones overnight. Beethoven would apparently dress the next day completely unaware of the exchange.
