Speaking of Haydn, I tuned into the local Classical Music station to the last two movements of Haydn's 1st Violin Concerto. I found the slow movement to be very interesting.

Just listening to Mozart's Misericordias Domini, K. 222. It was written when Mozart about nineteen, yet you can distinctly hear the germ of Beethoven's Ode to Joy theme about 50 seconds in.
It's highly unlikely that Beethoven ever heard this work as it was obscure enough even in Mozart's time. It still gave me a bit of a shock when I heard it.
