. Instead i confess i have a hole in my soul as far as composed music from the Romantic era is concerned; there are few opuses i have mental access to (right performance presumed to be at hand), the rest just gives me nothing. But i would never dare to hang a tag of inferiority on that music. 
i'd like to recommend an engineers read (really?): Robert A.Pirsigs "Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance". To get deeper into the question "What is quality?"
