Very enjoyable piece. I liked the minor intermissions in the Andante, and also the sudden usage of percussion instruments, not unlike haydn in his military symphony. Lovely work.

In addition to the timpani, Eggert scores a bass drum, cymbals, and a triangle in three out of four his completed symphonies: the C-minor, C-major, and G-minor. Only in his Eb symphony does Eggert forego the massive percussion reinforcements in exchange for three trombones.
