    Zander masterclass

Interesting ideas on Beethoven's 'Serioso' quartet Op.95, particularly with regard to tempo and he takes the metronome markings very literally! Full performance of 1st movt begins at 13'24 and Zander states that at 4 mins it is the shortest movement Beethoven wrote.

I saw that some time ago. I love Zander's enthusiasm but the performance was a bit too frantic for my tastes - especially as that quartet is one of my absolute favourites.
However, I don't want to get into another debate about the vexed question of Beethoven's metronome markings!
    Well worth watching though.

Yes it does seem extreme - how about the speed he gets this young lady to play the 1st movt of the Moonlight? Starts at 23'22

This should be retitled the "Moonshine Sonata".

I generally like things on the fast side, but I don't know about that!
