What Beethoven concerts are you going to..

    I am sooooo excited!!!

    I am going to see:

The Pastoral Symphony 10 December this year

    12 or 14th March 2015, The Ninth

    10 May 2015, The Seventh

    18th September 2015, Opus 130 String Quartet

I sure wish we had a schedule like that. The 5th is coming in October (Detroit Symphony Orchestra) and will be wonderful, but the 6th and 9th are right at the top of my list. The Atlanta Symphony did one, either 7th or 8th as I recall, the last evening I was there for a training class. I did not go because the cheapest tickets were $30 and chances are they would be sold out or higher priced the night of the concert. I am getting spoiled by the Hill Auditorium's $10 USD (plus $3 service fee) tickets.

It's the first time I ever saw such a schedule! I hope you get to see the 5th! And of course one day the 6th and 9th!

My Beethoven related plans for concerts look like this for the coming season:
          Hammerklavier in Antwerp (Feb 2015)
Piano Concerto 4 & Symphony No. 5 in Frankfurt (Feb 2015)
The Eroica and Piano Concerto 1 (also in Feb 2015, gonna be a busy month)

Other stuff the rest of the season (Mahler, Mendelssohn, for example)

                Große Fuge Op.130?

As for me, none yet planned. I will probably go to a couple of Proms.

Yes the Große Fuge is the last movement of Opus 130- I hope they play this and don't leave it out!!!

Hope you find some good concerts to go to Hal.

I read somewhere (not sure if it is true) that the fugue is played far less in performance as the finale to Op.130 than the alternate ending. I hope you're one of the lucky ones.

I did check the Proms, and there are quite a few good ones (this one in particular) - the only problem is that I'm a bit late to the party and tickets are all sold out.

Wow! MISSA SOLEMNIS! Oh what a shame you couldn't get a ticket- but I bet it will be on BCiplayer which I will watch!

It is good that it is popular though.

A few tickets became available so I managed to snag tickets to the Missa Solemnis and the Ninth. Gardiner's Missa Solemnis is one of my favourite recordings, so I'm very excited. His et vitam venturi is electrifying.
