    Beethoven's Hallelujah

This timely piece is the final movement of Beethoven's "Christus am Olberge" in one of its other guises.

In this "disguise" it was rather popular in the 2nd half of the 19th Century in Britain, as an alternative for the Handel chorus with the same name

An excellent "borrowing" from Mozart's La Clemenza. I wonder if Mozart ever got the credits for this Beethoven piece in Beethoven's time?
As for the "Hallelujah" movie, it somehow reminds me of PDQ Bach. The possibilities are endless.

(how I imbedded-copy the url from youtube and paste here then highlight, and click the "youtube" icon-it's never been easier than that (thank you Admin :-))

my personal favorite rendition has been this one ever since discovering a couple years ago...

Welten singen - (Hallelujah from "Christus am Ölberge") - Ludwig Van Beethoven - in German, of course....

Vid Note: This is the "Hallelujah" from Beethoven's Oratorium from "Christ at the Mount of Olives"... pure Classical ROCK!

(see, he really was a ROCK musician!)

Thanks for posting that, EternaLisa! That made for a great way to end the day; I loved that performance, as well. That is one of the faster tempi I've heard and has a lot of good energy.
