    Beethoven Study Day (London Jan 31)

    Eminent Beethoven scholar Prof Barry Cooper will give a talk on how Beethoven's compositions came to be written and the extent to which his personal life is reflected in his music. At the new venue for classical music Kings Place which is just up from King's Cross train station. On the preceding Friday night Jean-Bernard pommier performs Op 14, 49 and 22 while the Orion String Quartet perform Op 18 no 6, OP 95 and Op 130 on the Saturday night. Let me know if any of you can make this wonderful weekend devoted to our favourite composer!

        Excellent concert at the new Kings Place London last Saturday - the Orion quartet performed Op.18/6 Op.95 and Op.130 with the original Grosse fugue finale which I think works best, much as I like the replacement movement Beethoven wrote. The Beethoven unwrapped series at Kings Place continues on 24th Feb to March 1st for those who are in London. http://www.kingsplace.co.uk/
