    Alfred Brendel is to retire from the concert stage next year giving his final concert in Vienna.

    Aw...he is my favorite player of Beethoven. I shall have to try to see him live before he retires!

        Thank you, Peter, for noticing!

        Sad. One thing I think about now is the amazing account of the Choral Fantasy at Carnegie Hall (perhaps you remember, with Bev(erly Sills) as one of the comperes). Alfred Brendel came directly from the airport - quite exhausted and played a wonderful account of the Choral Fantasy. The audience went wild.
        I think this tells how he is.
