    UNKNOWN BEETHOVEN PORTRAIT

I came across this portrait on my hard disc. I must have put it there a long time ago because I have forgotten its origin. Does anyone know anything about it??

I came across a mirror image of that pic recently.. but where?.. the Beethoven-haus Archives?

    Shades of Marlon Brando, huh?

Haven't seen this one before! Very unique though. He looks very somber.

        Well Known LvB Portraits

This google video site shows a very good chronological series of LvB portraits.

But it definitely does not show the one that started this thread.

Must it be? It must be!

I found this photo on Dominique Prevot's wonderful Beethoven website in his collection of postcards. It can be found on this link listed as postcard "#145- Portrait from Russia after L. Binenbaum":

          Mystery solved.

Thanks Hollywood. That site is a treasure. I have been downloading the great Midi files but never noticed the Postcard collection!
