    14 May 1807 Eggert's conducting debut

Today marks the 200th anniversary of Joachim Eggert's conducting debut in Stockholm. On the program were the following works by Eggert:
    1. Symphony in C-minor.
    2. A string quartet.
    3. Symphony in Eb major.
    4. "God Save the King" with variations for 3 bassoons.
    5. Sextet for clarinet, horn, and strings.
    6. A symphonic finale with a fantasy on a Swedish folksong.

The Eggert Eb major symphony was scored for 3 trombones and pre-dated Beethoven's 5th symphony by 18 months.

Since Eggert's Eb symphony is scheduled for performance on 21-22 November 2007 in Stockholm, the score will have to be finished by summer's end. It is our top priority.
