Well, Q (please forgive me; earlier I used your real [?] first name, which I think is against the rules here), I have been practising my golf game, managing to hit great balls while avoiding treading on those pesky bunker rakes. Other than that, enjoying all the fruits that life has to offer (and all legal, I hasten to add!). Or, as Frank Sinatra put it, "Living life as I see fit." Also been listening to so many composers but, in the end, Mr. LvB remains The King.

I'm pleased you're doing well, Q. Thanks for the update on Michael. His interesting posts were the reason I joined this site back in the year 2000! Seems like yesterday...

Hi PDG, I had a look too, but no joy. What might the connection between golf and Hogarth be? I've been surfing the Web and came up with his "A Rake's Progress" (a series of eight satirical paintings). Might the the bunker rake you mentioned above be the idea?

I can't find the post but I'm sure it must have been c.mid-2009. It wasn't a big "thing". I'd joked that I'd been playing golf, and that the best two balls I hit all day was when I trod on a rake. You responded with a comment about Hogarth. Then, I think I said something about him being my caddie that day, and checking my progress.

All very high brow, I'm sure you'll agree...

That must be something like, you should never use a preposition to end a sentence with.
