    Previously lost works by Satie

This story keeps me hoping that missing folio pages from Bruckner's autograph score of his 9th symphony may still one day turn up!

Unheard works by Erik Satie to premiere 100 years after his death

Interesting that Satie rarely composed at the piano, whilst Chopin had to have a piano. Love Satie's eccentric performance directions such as “With the tip of your thought. Postulate within yourself. On the tongue.”

About composing at the piano, we remember Beethoven's advice to his student Rudolf to combine both approaches; and Gershwin was also an "only at the piano" composer, right?
As for Satie's eccentric performance instructions, they are a hoot, aren't they!?

Yes - musicians are a contrary lot! Berlioz said composing at the piano was the death of originality. Satie's performance directions deserve more credence, he might have been onto something with gems such as "shake like a leaf" and “Wonder about yourself”.
