    Pet Peeves in Beethoven-Based Fiction?

    Hello, All!

Since this is a forum with a lot of Beethoven fans (naturally), I was wondering if I could get a general sense of what aspects of historical fiction inspired by or about him are irritating/bothersome to the posters here. Positive aspects, or things posters would like to see in such works, are highly welcomed also! Same goes for standout fiction about Beethoven.

Admittedly I have an ulterior motive for this, as I enjoy writing. And I may or may not be exploring a Beethoven-related concept for fiction purposes in the future.

I find many of the films about Beethoven to be irritating, the ludicrous plot of 'Copying Beethoven' for example and the equally absurd 'Immortal beloved'. In both cases the scenarios presented are so in contradiction to the known facts and since Beethoven's life is fascinating enough, one wonders why the need to invent such preposterous story lines.
